Will MT5 replace the previous MT4?
As of now, there are no such updates. Considering the fact that MT4 is quite popular among the traders and its popularity is not going to fade out anytime soon, it can be said that nothing such incidence is going to take place in near future. DMM will keep supporting the MT4 accounts.
The best thing a beginner can do is to try both MT4 and MT5, be familiar with the features of both the platforms, get used to all the tools and interface, and then choose. You can download both the versions, use them in parallel for some time and pick the one that goes the best with your style of trading.
